An Elder Speaks

Worship
Jack Smith
December 14,2003

As we continue to address our worship to God, Let us consider the following:

And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together as the manner of some is: but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as we see the day approaching. (Heb. 10:24- 25)

Some do forsake the assembling together and thus forsake the teaching of God and are at fault.  When we forsake the command of God, we have forsaken God.

We should always attend as many bible classes as possible, which is so important to our worship to God.  We are encouraged to study; Study to show thyself approved unto God a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

We are encouraged to memorialize the Lord’s death in communion until he comes. (Acts 20:7, 1 Cor. 11:23-26)  We are encouraged to give as we’ve prospered each 1st day of the week  1 Cor. 16:1,2.   Now all these things happened unto they for example and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come. Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall. (1 Cor. 10:11,12)

If we don’t study, and if we don’t attend worship service on a regular basis , we can fall from the good graces of God. Gal. 5:4.

Let us continue to worship in spirit and in truth.  Let us not forsake the assembling of ourselves together.
