(Acts. 3: 22-26)

Three kinds of rulers in the old Testament were
anointed. They were prophets, priests, and kings. Christ was
referred to in the bible as all three. He is our high priest
(Heb. 4:15-16), making intercession for us (Rom. 8:34), and he
is our Lord and King (Acts. 2:36) seated on the throne at the
right hand of God (Rom.8:34). Christ is also a prophet (Acts
3:22) telling us what was going to happen according to God’s
word. The discussion in this article Christ as a prophet.
In
John 1 : 45 the bible says “Phillip findeth Nathaniel, and
saith unto him , we have found him of whom Moses in the law,
and the prophets did write, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of
Joseph.” All the prophets from Samuel and those that follow
after, (Acts. 3:24) wrote of Jesus Christ alone who was he
unto Moses as a Prophet (Acts. 2:22, Deut. 18:15). Christ was
not just an ordinary prophet in that the bible says in
Deuteronomy 34:10, 11 and 12, “There arose not a prophet in
Israel like unto Moses, whom the Lord knew face to face, in
all the signs and wonders which the Lord sent him to do
In the land of Egypt to Pharaoh, and to all his
servants, and to all his land, and in all that mighty hand,
and in all that great terror which Moses showed in the sight
of all Israel.
Christ was like Moses in regards to his
mediation between God and his people. Deut. 5:5, 1 Tim. 2:5.
But Christ was greater than Moses in that he gave himself a
ransom for all, to be testified in due time. In addition,
Christ is the mediator of a new and better covenant which was
established on better promises. ( Heb. 7)
In Acts 3:23 the bible says that all who
refuses to hear Jesus will be destroyed. And that Jesus
teaching will to unto the children of the prophet and of the
covenant which was made with Abraham first (Acts 3:25-26).
Finally, Jesus was sent to turn “everyone of you from his
iniquities.” (Acts. 3:26)
